5 Friday Faves

1 | J Crew Fall 2012

 via
Loving the mix of patterns and the retro silhouettes.
No doubt there's going to be several pieces
coming to live in my closet.

2 | Jack White at Workplay

via
I scored two tickets to Jack White's March show at Workplay,
a super cool music venue here in Birmingham.
The show sold out in 9 minutes! This lucky girl is very happy.

3 | Windows Draped in Sunshine

via
I need these bright yellow drapes in my life right now.

4 | Wrap Watches

via
Everyone needs a bright punch of color!
And hot pink is all over the place this year.

I Heart Sophia Grace & Rosie

I am most positive you are familiar with the adorable, tutu-clad
Sophia Grace and her sidekick, Rosie, but I can't get enough of them.
Their abundance of confidence and energy is mesmerizing.
Which makes them perfect for manning the red carpet at awards shows.
Check out these hilarious clips from the AMAs and the Grammys.

I mean seriously.

1 | Super funny and perhaps spot-on
commentary on the Pinterest obsession.
"Pinterest seems to reaffirm our investment in
the superficial, and in what we still hope we'll
find in that beautiful heap to satisfy us in a
dirty and disorganized world." {excerpt}

2 | Pretty much, if you add goat cheese to
anything, I'll eat it. These quesadillas were fantastic!
And relatively easy. Tip: this recipe makes a lot of quesadilla
mix and avocado dip. I didn't think about it beforehand
and ended up with enough triangles for a cocktail party.

3 | I have always adored red lips but I can never seem
to pull them off without feeling like a 6 year-old playing
in her Mother's makeup bag. Glamour to the rescue!
I tried this tutorial at home last night and today
I'm sporting a scarlet pout. I think it looks good!

Have you discovered any hot links this week?

My Kind of Valentine

Honestly, I have never been a big fan of the holiday.
It's always seemed a little silly and forced.
Who needs a specific day to make
their loved ones feel special?

Maybe I'm just a bah humbug when
it comes to chalky, pastel hearts and
the cheese-fest that ensues on V-Day.

And it never fails that B is traveling
on this special day - four years in a row.
Every year that we've been married, I've spent
the night in, doing what I want, eating what want
and in complete control of the TV remote.

Now, that's my kind of valentine.

I know I probably seem like an unromantic fuddy-duddy
but I always do something to make him feel special.
This year he's getting tickets to Jack White.

Okay, so the Jack White tix are for BOTH of us.

And in lieu of elbowing my way through the card aisle
at Hallmark, I decided to make cards using RedStamp.

The browns also got in on the action.

If you don't already have this app, download it now.
Letting someone know you're thinking about
them has never been so eazy-peazy!

Yes you can!

5 | Musical Gifts from B

Today's Pick
Each week, the husband sends me various links
to super cheesy music videos, totally at random times.
His selection varies from really old rap to 80s soft rock hits.
And he LOVES Steve Winwood.

May your weekend be filled with the finer things!

Railroad Revival

Excited about this:

"Mumford and Sons have unveiled the trailer
for their new tour film Big Easy Express.

The documentary follows the band on their
Railroad Revival Tour of the US in spring 2011, which
saw them hit the road on a train with the likes of
Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes and
Old Crow Medicine ShowIt saw all three bands eat,
sleep and record music on the train, which consisted
of 15 vintage railcars from the '50s and '60s.

According to a post on the band's official website,
MumfordAndSons.com, the film is set to be premiered
at this year's SXSW Film Festival, which takes
place between March 9-17." -- NME Magazine
